SEVILLE: GATEWAY TO THE NEW WORLD

The year was 1492 - the New World is first discovered, and the Moors are defeated by the Catholic Kings in Spain, ushering in the Golden Age of Seville. For the next several hundred years, New World products would travel across the Atlantic Ocean and up the Guadalquivir river to Seville, where they would be received and distributed all over Europe.
